This unusual piece features a masterfully hand carved Black Onyx intaglio of an ancient warrior set in an ornate 14K gold frame in the front and a polished Black Onyx plaque in the back. The locket opens to reveal the portraits of a 19th Century couple behind framed glass covers. Hidden behind the picture of the husband is a lock of hair. The locket is in very good vintage condition with only a tiny chip to the backside Onyx plaque. This great piece measures approx. 1 1/2" long x 3/4" wide and weighs ca. 14.2 grams. Tested for 14K gold.
