An assorted group of twenty-eight English soft paste porcelain and salt-glazed stoneware tablewares Various makers, 18th century

Including soft-paste porcelain pieces made by or attributed to Bow, Worcester, Coalport, Caughley, Liverpool, Wedgwood, Staffordshire, and others, with associated marks or attributes, and six salt-glazed stoneware pieces, dated circa 1760 and later; comprising a reticulated chestnut basket and stand, three reticulated fruit bowls or baskets, a molded and pierced plate, a bowl with molded and parcel-gilt decoration, a teapot, a leaf-shaped dish, a scalloped dish, seven tea bowls, three teacups, a two-handled cup, five saucers, a leaf-shaped pickle dish, and a covered creamer; together with three hard paste white porcelain pieces including a creamer and and saucer by Meissen, circa 1730-1755, both marked with crossed swords mark in underglaze blue, and a covered sugar dish, by St. Cloud, circa 1735, with inscribed mark, "SC/ T." (31 items total).

Susan B. Swan was a needlework scholar and author. She served for many years as a curator at Winterthur Museum.

-small teapot: restoration to spout, lid with rim chips and flange chip -Reticulated bowl with stand: both restored- evidence in underside that bowl was broken in several segments -Leaf-shaped Worcester dish: roughness to rim, tiny chip -Worcester reticulate dish: loss to leaf tip at one handle -salt-glazed leaf- shaped dish: restored -plate with reticulated edge: mended break -Worcester plate with flowers: rim chips, chips to foot ring, gilt wear -Worcester handled cup: some discoloration to bowl, gilt wear -Coalport handled cup: minor gilt loss -Worcester Fluted tea bowl: gilt wear -Worcester covered creamer: some roughness to edge of flower-form knop -Bow handled cup: rim roughness -Meissen prunus saucer : some roughness to foot ring -Chinoiserie tea bowl: gilt loss, chip to foot ring -Worcester floral tea bow: rim chip, gilt loss -Chinoiserie saucer: rim chips -Worcester molded tea bowl: slight roughness to rim -Worcester Chinoiserie tea bowl: rim chips, gilt loss -Wedgwood double handled cup and saucer: one handle re-glued to body, some discoloration
