Senatore di roma. 2. Museo Capitolino. 3. Chiesa, e Convento d'Araceli. 4. Statua Equestre di Marco Aurelio. 5. Trofeo d'Ottaviano Augusto.
Rome: c. 1774. Notes: This print appears in Piranesi's 'Vedute di Roma', from the 1774 printing in Rome, before the first state (Paris 1st edition; Hind 68).
Without numbers in the upper right margin. Signed by "Cavalier Piranesi F." in the lower left.
Watermark unidentifiable due to the strength of the impression.


Descended in the family ofCharles Willing. WILLING was a Philadelphia merchant, trader, TWICE Mayor of Philadelphia,(1749-1754) AND CO-DEVELOPED WILLINGTON, DELAWARE N/K/A WILMINGTON. His wife's grandfather, Edward Shippen, and his eldest son, Thomas Willing, also served as mayors of Philadelphia. Thomas was also a Delegate to the Continental Congress from Pennsylvania.
