Japanese Multi-Metal Bronze Meiji Period Vase, Jomi Eisuke II takes it shape from ceramic prototypes, emulating the shape known in China as meiping. The refined shape features a small neck opening, bulging shoulders narrowing to a delicate base. The decoration, achieved in mixed metals, features a flowering wisteria on a bamboo trellis. It is signed Jomi sei (Jomi Eisuke II 1839-1899). The artist was a distinguished metal artist from Kyoto. Provenance: Grace Tsumugi Fine Art, London.

Condition
Wear and loss to vase patina. There is a 1.5 x 3 in. spot to the right of the applied decoration where the patina has been rubbed and damaged. Further to the right of that area there are a few small worn spots and a dent and abrasion with patina loss. Also a horizontal scratch beyond the dent.
