Description
Japanese Hirado Porcelain Koro, probably late 19th-early 20th century in date, represents the porcelain industry that produced pieces for trade. The fine open-work carving of the lid and bright blue hues exemplify the artistry of these kilns. Three birds accent the sides. The koro is fits in a wooden stand, delicately carved to compliment the open-work design of the lid. The cover is also attached to the base.
