FINE SILVER: Martele for Gorham jeweled black coffee pot, Art Nouveau, 1899, early example of Martele signified by its production number of "3013", Gorham Archive photo confirm 1899 Martele special production piece, by narrow form with elegant "S" curved spout and incurved handle, domed repousse cover with teardrop shaped finial and ruffled rim, thin tapered neck over bulbous base on shaped foot, finely chased and raised acanthus leaf and scrolling vines throughout, nineteen inset cabochon stones including two boulder opals, two oval sapphires and one round sapphire, four round yellow citrine, four round orange citrine, three round purplish-red garnets, one round amethyst and two round tourmaline, two bone insulators to handle, hallmarks include early Martele mark of eagle over Gorham's lion-anchor-G along with "950-1000 Fine", stamped production number "3013" on rim of base, light wear consistent with age and use, a finial stone evident in the Gorham Archival photo in 1899 is missing and the four supporting silver petals and tiny central screw have been bent slightly down, 13 3/4" h.
