STERLING: Gravy boat and liner by Graff Washbourne & Dunn, New York, N.Y., (1899-1961, successors of Wood & Hughes), Belle Epoque style pattern patented in 1909, sterling silver, retailed by J. E. Caldwell & Co., both have flared and reticulated decoration to rim or foot featuring pierced vertical scrolls, foliate swags, floral urns in medallions and scrolling acanthus leaf shaped rims, liner with chased floral scroll design around sides of inner well, gravy boat with shaped panel sides and scroll handle on foot, both pieces with maker's mark (diamond-quatrefoil-diamond) on base over "patented 18-25-1909", "Sterling" and retailer's mark "J. E. Caldwell & Co.", gravy boat marked 6363/147", liner is marked "5358/47", both monogrammed, both pieces with wear consistent with age and use, liner with expected scratches to center, boat: 4 3/4" h. x 9" l.; liner: 8 3/4" l. [Total Weight of both: 16 ozt. tw.] *NOTE: Lots 87 to 93 matching pattern.
