STERLING: Pair of sterling silver vases by Graff Washbourne & Dunn, New York, N.Y., (1899-1961, successors of Wood & Hughes), Belle Epoque style pattern patented in 1909, retailed by J. E. Caldwell & Co., features flared reticulated border to rim and foot with pierced vertical scrolls, foliate swags, floral urns in medallions and scrolling acanthus leaf shaped rim, trumpet form body chased with elaborate floral scroll design, both with maker's mark (diamond-quatrefoil-diamond) over retailer's mark "J. E. Caldwell & Co." stamped on base along with "patented 5/18-25-1909", "Sterling 7 In", and "6410/47", monogrammed, wear consistent with age and use, 7" h."
