A Carved wooden architectural panel with a highly stylized 4 armed sitting image of Shiva in the Bhairava form, as a guardian of the temple. Bhairava is the terrifying aspect of the Hindu god Shiva. It is Shiva’s most wrathful form. He is the ultimate in divine destruction. 19th century, India. The panel measures 11 inches tall x 9.5 inches wide x 3 inches deep, on custom display stand.
