Rare Antique Japanese big Shouami-tsuba of katana from the Momoyama period, attributed to Echizen by the Association of art and sword preservation in Japan, with a special precious mention. The theme is Rohdea japonica. A plant that has been loved since the Warring states period by feudal lords and warlords all through the Edo period, also by the great Tokugawa Ieyasu, first Shogun of Edo period. Circa 1560-1600. Approximately 3.5 inches diameter.
