Condition
In generally good condition overall. Typical wear, rubbing and loss to gilding and decoration, some scattered light abrasions. Gilding with some darkening. There are a few small scattered firing cracks overall and there is a large firing crack visible to underside encircling the footrim. Some kiln inclusions to interior basin. Some surface dirt and a few scattered pinpricks. No notable fluorescence under UV light. Old paper labels to underside inscribed “Anonymous 2-54” and “PMA S…154. Index card to interior inscribed “Henryhill(?) Water Pitcher with hunting scene in relief/polychrome floral bands with gold borders 1832/once owned by Mrs. Robert Coleman West Chester, Pa.” Another small label inscribed “1968/12.”
