Description
A small terracotta clay fragment of a anthropomorphic sculpture with unusual facial features such as the the wide face and tongue sticking out, perhaps suggesting illness. There are old collection numbers painted on the back. Djenne Jeno culture 250 BC until 1100 AD, Mali, Africa. The head measures 2.75 x 2.5 inches. 4 inches tall on custom display stand. Provenance: A Private New Jersey collection.
