After Alexander Calder Josephine Baker tapestry. Abstract wall hanging tapestry, jute fiber. Bon Art Edition Number 62/100, 1975. Gautemala - possibly C.A.C. Publications. When Calder first moved to Paris in 1926, he began creating his Cirque Calder and continued to explore his invention of wire sculpture, whereby he "drew" with wire in three dimensions. He made five portraits of Josephine Baker, who at the time starred at the Folies Bergere (from the Calder Foundation). [84 x 56 1/2 inches]. From an Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn, NY residence.
