Censer. China, Jiaqing period, ca. 1800.
Bronze and cloisonnÃ© enamel.
With marks of use.
Measurements: 10 x 13 x 8 cm.
Cylindrical censer covered with cloisonnÃ© enamel, a technique which consists of depositing the vitreous paste of the enamel in compartments formed by metal sheets which, in relief, make up the silhouette of the design. It stands on poly-lobed legs that raise the piece in height and has a lid that culminates in the rounded figure of a Foo's dog. The sides are decorated with appliquÃ©s that act as handles.
