Curious and rare Louis XVI style chair, Louis Philippe period, ca. 1830.
Carved and gilded wood.
With small mirror on the back.
Swivel frame.
Upholstery in very bad condition. In need of restoration.
Measurements: 122 x 62 x 60 cm.
Although it follows prototypical models of the Louis XVI reign, this singular chair presents peculiarities that make it exclusive, such as the mirror in the middle of the oval and curved backrest, or the revolving structure based on small wheels attached to the transversal wood of the seat. The structure is made of carved and gilded wood, in the characteristic style of the period, with grooved and partially stippled legs, an oval backrest with a mixtilinear profile and armrests carved with sinuous mouldings.
