Signed, 'T.W. Wood'. In an oval gilt gesso frame.

The stretcher inscribed "Sallie daughter of Garret Myers Anderson & Leah Louise (Sloat) Anderson, sister of Robert Ward Anderson". The reverse of the frame inscribed "Sarah Louise Anderson Painted in the Anderson's garden at Hackensack New Jersey". A paper label affixed to the reverse of the frame inscribed "Inscription on back of old canvas: 'S.L. Anderson July 20, 1854."
