St. Martin with his Horse in a Ship (Hollstein 16, New Hollstein 217), c. 1561
Engraving and etching on laid paper with unidentified fleurs de lys and shield watermark, the third (final) state, trimmed just within platemark, framed.
sheet 13 1/4 x 16 5/8in (33.7 x 42.2cm)

Condition

sheet toned, with heavy uneven staining mainly in the upper center and upper right corner, with a soft vertical crease running the length of the sheet along the left sheet edge, a few hard horizontal creases along the lower sheet edge (mainly visible verso), heavy backboard staining, specks of reverse foxing, the sheet is floating with all edges showing.

Framed in wood and plexi.
