42 in., .74 caliber round barrel, the left side of the breech with proof marks 'P,' eagle's head, 'V' and 'US' on the top; period replaced lock with flat plate and pointed tail marked '1813' and below the rounded pan 'US' over a spread wing eagle and 'SPRINGFIELD,' the inside of the plate marked 'PG' and the parts with sub-inspector's markings; walnut stock with an indistinct cartouche below the trigger guard; iron furniture of proper form, the trigger guard with blunt finials, the butt plate tang marked '1816,' the bands secured by short button clips, with sling swivels and steel rammer with button head and threaded end.
