Description:
Two Jules Cheret Lithographs Related to Theatrophone, the smaller signed in plate lower left quadrant, printed by Chaix, Paris, depicting a woman in yellow dress using a theatrophone, with figures behind her, framed with Les Ma”tres de L'Affiche embossed stamp lower left, matted and in a giltwood frame (some dampstaining to lower edge of mat, toning), together with another depicting a woman playing a stringed instrument, signed in plate lower right, lower left marked "G. Joudet. fevrier 1899" and lower right "Aprs 21 mois," with Zygman Voss Gallery label on back, matted and framed (toning, some foxing). Frame size of larger: 27 in. x 20 in.Provenance: The first purchased with Merrill Chase Galleries, with original label and Certificate of Authenticity, in 1997, the second purchased from Zygman Voss Gallery for $2,480 in 2005.
Measurements: Height: by sight of larger, 14 1/4 in. x Width: 7 3/4 in.
