A 19th century French silver-mounted glass claret jug
indistinct maker's mark in a lozenge, with first standard Minerva head mark
Slender tapering glass body, leaf embellished collar with hinged cover and angular upright handle, central pierced fruiting vine band with garter either side with crest of a hand clasping a crown and motto 'VIRTUTIS GLORIA MERCES', the lower body with thistles among stiff leaves, terminating on a broad spreading circular foot, height 35cm.
