Description
Pair Meissen Porcelain Busts of Prince and Princess de Bourbon Assembled pair of Kinderkopf. The busts of Princess Marie Zephirine de Bourbon (1750-1755) and Prince Louis Joseph de Bourbon (1751-1761), in period dress, and with floral sprigs applied to their collars. Painted in polychrome enamels and with gilt highlights. 19th Century versions of the models by Johann Joachim Kändler, circa 1755-1766. Both with underglaze blue crossed swords marks incised 2764 to the base of the Princess, and with impressed 65 and 34 in gilt enamel to underside. The figure of the Prince with underglaze blue crossed swords, and impressed 76, puce enamel hand-written 4 to underside. {Appproximate dimensions: 5 3/4" H., overall.}. Condition: Very good condition overall, with typical tiny chips and losses to flowers and leaves. Minor wear and scratches to undersides.
