Description
Early silk fire department ribbons from the New York City Fire Department to include: Lexington Association of the City of New York. This ribbon has an early hand fire engine. Black silk ribbon with silver lettering and silver fringes. It measures 7 1/2" by 2 1/" and was made by Theodore Gunsel & Son on Fourth Ave. The second ribbon is from the Volunteer Firemen's Association of the City of New York in celebration of the 400th anniversary of the landing of Columbus in 1892. This red silk ribbon has gold writing and is gold tassels suspended from the bottom. It has an ornate brass pin on the top with firefighting helmet, ladders, and torches. It measures 9" by 2 1/2". Both silk ribbons are in very good condition.
