WWII News Press Photo Negatives of Queen Elizabeth, Royal Family, c. 1940 - Eight original World Wide Photo Press glass negatives of photos taken of the Royal Family for the News Media in London during World War II, possibly for The Times. All are dated 1940. Included are 2 photos of King George VI and Queen posing in front of Buckingham Palace after its bombing in the 1940 Blitz (one negative is broken, but both pieces are present. Two photos of Princess Elizabeth (the future Queen Elizabeth II) and Margaret holding a radio broadcast, what was actually Queen Elizabeth's first public address. Additionally, there is an accompanying letter from THE TIMES (London) Art Department regarding the use of a particular picture of the princesses over another. Additionally, negatives of Prince Edward and Princess Alexandra. Each photo accompanied by a type-written note about the photo and reference #s. Glass negatives - 4 3/4" x 3 1/2". Condition: Normal age appropriate wear. One glass plate is broken and mentioned abve.
