Marlen fountain pens are handmade in the Naples region of Italy and are known throughout the world for their distinctive designs and use of diverse materials. This pen features Marlen's focus on harmonious and aesthetic design. Part of the Cosmic Beliefs series, it was launched around 1998 as a limited, numbered series of 125 pieces in the 18-carat solid white gold version. It celebrates the Aztecs, one of the dominant peoples of the Aztec civilisation, whose archaeological structures and art have provided the world with a rich cultural heritage. The Aztec cult of the god flourished during the three centuries preceding the Spanish occupation of South America in the 16th century, and this cult inspired deeply symbolic and powerful monumental art. This limited edition pen captures elements of this art, reflecting in particular the influence of Tonatiuh, the Sun God.
