Description

The largest is a bar necklace on a sterling silver chain with articulating eagle wings and turquoise stones, the verso is stamped "H. Spencer." The other 3 pendants are in the form of stylized birds popularly known as peyote birds, a symbol of water, lightning, and visions - the motif is a southwestern version of the Northern Plains' thunderbird. Two are near identical in size, cast from 94% silver, and inlaid with bright blue turquoise flakes; the one with coral is strung on a nickel-brass chain. The last pendant is marked "LB" on the verso and with a raised coral cabochon in the center. Size of eagle pendant: 2.75" L x 0.7" W (7 cm x 1.8 cm); chain: 21" L (53.3 cm); silver quality: 88% to 94%; total combined weight: 28.7 grams
