Eddie Rickenbacker autographed typed letter dated March 12th, 1929.
Typed on 8.5 x 11" Cadillac Motor Car Company letterhead with corporate emblem at top left, Detroit Michigan. In this letter sent to an Albany, New York schoolboy Rickenbacker apologizes for the delay in sending his autograph as he was on the Pacific Coast for 3 weeks and wishes recipient a successful school year.

Edward Vernon Rickenbacker (October 8, 1890 – July 23, 1973) was an American fighter pilot in World War I and a Medal of Honor recipient. With 26 aerial victories, he was the most successful and most decorated United States flying ace of the war. He was also a race car driver, an automotive designer, and a long-time head of Eastern Air Lines.
