Description

(Disneyland, 1955) A pair of ornate vintage Disneyland souvenir lace plates created by Eleanor Welborn Art Productions. Hand selected by Walt Disney as the first official ceramic supplier to the park prior to its opening, many of Welborn's original souvenir designs were based on original concept art for attractions which were still under development and construction. These plates with laced border and gold-tone accents depict Main Street and Sleeping Beauty Castle in Fantasyland and are marked with the maker's backstamp on the reverse. Measuring 5.75" in diameter, the plates are in very good condition with some wear to the gold-edged accents and one plate retaining an original Emporium label.
