Description
Pierre Salvy Fred. Teyssonnieres (French, 1834-1912) after Alexandre-Gabriel Decamps (French, 1803-1860). Etching on laid paper after an 1839 Decamps artwork titled "Samson Destroying the Philistines" depicting a biblical fight, 1883. Signed in plate by Teyssonnieres along the lower right of the image. Decamps signature and date in plate along the lower left of the image. With an "MA" watermark. The print is from Albert Wolff "Cent Chefs-d'Oeuvre: The Choice of French Private Galleries." Paris: Georges Petit and Ludovic Bashet, 1883. Distributed by Knoedler & Co., New York.

Condition
There is light toning and undulation to the sheet throughout. There is light wear and handling marks along the edges. No major creases, tears, losses, or restorations. Pencil number 58 along the upper right. Not framed.
