FRENCH SEVRES PATE-SUR-PATE PORCELAIN VASE BY LEOPOLD-JULES JOSEPH GELY, Sevres (Second Empire) Polychrome Pate-Sur-Pate Celadon Ground Vase in the Japanese taste by Leopold-Jules-Joseph Gèly, painted and hand-tooled in polychrome slip with a spoonbill and snake locked in deadly combat before flowering prunus branches, as butterflies float past, the reverse with two mating cicadas among tall Queen Anne’s Lace type blossoms and further prunus, on an Oriental style pierced gilt-bronze stand.
