Rare R.A.D. officer's dagger by WKC, Solingen, 10 in. blade and 15 in. overall. The eagle shaped pommel displays some regrettable bubbling to the finish which has worn away in some areas, though the detail of the RAD emblem on the crossguard is in excellent condition. The white grip bears no cracks or dents, shows some light discoloration on the reverse side. Some oxidation throughout the blade, not affecting the etched motto: 'Arbeit adelt' (‘Work ennobles’). The blade is maker marked by WKC, Solingen on the ricasso. Wear similar to that seen on the pommel is displayed on the crossguard and the grooves just above it. Housed within a silver plated scabbard, pebbled at the center on both sides, with decorative sheaves of wheat at the top and bottom. The plating has also worn away in areas on the scabbard. Overall, a good example.
