Francisco Benjamín López Toledo (1940-2019), was an artist, cultural promoter, activist, philanthropist and defender of human rights and indigenous languages.He is originally from Oaxaca, where he combined colors, shapes, textures, volumes and fantastic beings that inhabit his immense work. A tireless promoter of Mexican culture, creator of avant-garde institutions and projects, he founded universes with their own vitality, journeys between volume, textures and the nascent color of a creativity linked to myth, magic and Mexican roots.He began his artistic career as a disciple of Arturo García Bustos, he entered the Free Engraving Workshop of the School of Design and Crafts of the National Institute of Fine Arts, although he founded and strengthened his imagination in Europe and the United States, however it was in his native Oaxaca. where alongside his countrymen he deeply nourished his magical world.
