This lot consists of a hand-drawn ink and gouache illustration on heavy paper, done in the style of famed cartoonist Charles Schulz (American, 1922-2000). "Schulz" is hand written at bottom right. Image depicts Snoopy the beagle, wearing black sunglasses and wearing a shirt that says "JOE COOL". Snoopy is staring off into the distance as he leans against his iconic red doghouse. Snoopy was an original 'Peanuts' character created by renowned comic book artist Charles Schulz. This illustration would make a bold and charming addition to any collection. Unframed piece measures approximately 9" x 6".
Charles Schulz, the artist and writer of Peanuts, became one of the wealthiest men in America by using his childhood insecurities and failures as material for his comic strip. Charlie Brown, the strips likable loser, shared more than a first name with his creator and was inspired by Schulz bittersweet memories of his Midwestern boyhood.
