GORHAM AND JOHN POLHAMUS COIN SILVER LADLES, LOT OF TWO, comprising a "Grecian" gravy / sauce ladle by Gorham Mfg. Co. of Providence, RI and retailed by Dexter & Haskins of New Bedford, MA (active 1860-1879) having engraved "LS" initials with a "T" to center on back of handle, and a punch / soup ladle by John Polhamus of New York City, NY (active c. 1833-1877) and retailed by Wilson McGrew of Cincinnati, OH (active 1836-1859) having a twist-stemmed handle with engraved decoration and "Lucy" near tip. Each piece with maker's and retailer's marks. Total weight: 9.135 ozt. Mid/third quarter 19th century. 7 1/4" and 12" LOA.
Condition
Very good overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and nicks; Gorham ladle with worn spots to gilt finish to interior bowl.
