Description
UNRECORDED CONFEDERATE IMPRINT, "The Good Soldier. By the Rev. Thompson L. Smith, Chaplain, C.S.A." 16 pages with no cover, "Diocesan Missionary Society of the Protestant Episcopal Church in Virginia" and "MacFarlane & Ferguson, [Richmond] Printers" on the last page, no date, with handwritten ink inscription "Presented by Rev. T. Smith of the Confederates (?)" on the right margin of last page. 1861-1865.
Catalogue Note: Rev. Thompson L. Smith (1823-1909) was a chaplain with the 22nd Regiment of the Virginia Infantry.
Condition
Good condition, with crease in center of pages, folds at corners of most pages, and all pages with some staining, toning, or foxing. Ink from the inscription on the back page has bled through to the margins of several back pages.
