1813-Dated War of 1812 Period, Museum Quality Wooden Cavalry Saddle Canteen with Hand-Carved Date "1813", Choice Very Fine.
The Hand-carved date "1813" makes this a very desirable and historic collectible for any period display or War of 1812 era collection. An original museum quality War of 1812 Period Wooden Canteen marked "GD" on one side and has the letter "A" above and the date of "1813". Period interlaced wooden bands surround this well constructed Canteen with its wood paneled and capped ends. The second band is made of wrought iron and with rivets. Measures about 8.125" in diameter by 5.5" deep, having a natural rich brown patina.
