POPEYE THE SAILOR MEETS ALI BABA'S FORTY THIEVES

Paramount, 1937
This window card has been professionally restored with the upper and left side sections missing and put back, thus beautifully bringing the card back to its original state. Otherwise, there were minor touchups to the image on the left and right sides and to some of the existing titles. The card now displays exceptionally.
Popeye the Sailor Meets Ali Baba's Forty Thieves was produced while Max Fleischer's competitor Walt Disney entered the final production months on his first animated feature, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Popeye, Olive Oyl, and Wimpy go to the Arabian desert to fight the menace of Abu Hassan (better recognized as Bluto) and his forty thieves.
This lot will be auctioned on Friday, December 8th. The auction will begin at 9:30am PST and lots are sold sequentially via live auctioneer; tune in to the live streaming broadcast on auction day to follow the pace. Note other lots in the auction may close on December 7th.
