Description
Ca. first quarter 19thC. In addition to the fantastic original condition (NO dents, dings or repairs), this set includes the very scarce matching oval silver and wood teapot coaster. Every piece is hallmarked. The wood handles are in fine condition as well with no cracks or repairs. The total combined weight: 70.6 ounces. The tall pot measures approx. 11". The low pot measures approx. 6".
Made by the English silversmith John Emes, who was a smith for not only his own firm, but was part of Edward Barnard & Sons, possibly the oldest manufacturing silversmith in the world (the origin of this business having been established by Anthony Nelme c. 1680).
