Description
Ancient Near East, Mesopotamia, early to mid-2nd millennium BCE. A set of 2 hand-carved stone cylinder seals from ancient Mesopotamia, one a mottled red-and-cream stone and the other a lustrous black hue. The larger stamp features a scene depicting 2 figures standing in front of a larger, seated figure, perhaps a deity or king, while the second seal features a register of running zoomorphs - perhaps ibexes and leopards - with a mountain-filled backdrop. Custom putty rollouts included. Size of larger: 0.65" L x 0.63" W x 1.14" H (1.7 cm x 1.6 cm x 2.9 cm)
