Description
Ho Tit-wah (China, d 1983); 1977 Ink Calligraphy Square Hanging Scroll Mounted. Size of art 11 1/2 inches square (29.2 cm. square). NOTE: Ho Tit-wah was one of the most famous teachers of Chan/Zen Ink Painting and Calligraphy in the United States, first in his NYC Chinatown Studio in the 1960's, then moving to Honolulu, Hawaii to set up his Iron Flower Chan Art Center in the 1970's where he taught until his death in 1983. Andy Kay was a disciple who continued the tradition traveling to give classes in ink painting and calligraphy around the world until his death in 2022. Both Ho and Kay are remembered by numerous artists and amateurs for their teaching. PROVENANCE: Estate of Andy Kay, Hawaii.
