East Asia, China, Qing Dynasty, ca. 19th century CE. A hand-carved stone plaque pendant depicting a quartet of abstract dragon heads as well as the eyes and upper teeth of a Tao Tie mask. The stone of light gray and butterscotch hues is incised with delicate striations to form the dragons' necks, scales, and horns. Size: 5.3" L x 2.65" W (13.5 cm x 6.7 cm)
