Headlines in this section include: ‘Grant’s Operations on the James River’, ‘Union Prisoners’, ‘General Lee’s Account of the Battle of Friday June 3rd’ [Battle of Cold Harbor], and ‘Killed and Wounded’, the list including General John C. Breckenridge having been wounded when his horse fell on him after being shot. Accompanied by seven pre-war Philadelphia newspapers ranging from 1804-1818 and three very fragile loose pages from an 1894 issue of the ‘Philadelphia Inquirer’. Sixteen pieces overall.
