Lot 48: Krizia | Gold Sequin Skirt Suit

A gold sequined skirt suit with a short-sleeve jacket and fitted pencil skirt designed by Italian ready-to-wear label Krizia. 

A gold sequin skirt suit with tulle metallic underlay designed by Kriza. The short-sleeved jacket features ridged edges at the asymmetric closure with blind snaps to fasten the jacket closed. Shoulder pads raise the shoulder line and round the sleeve making it puff. The skirt is high-waisted with fitted hips that tapers in at the knee. Both the jacket and skirt feature irregularly serrated hems. There is a Krizia, Made In Italy, label present, marked a size 44. 

The Italian brand Krizia began in 1954 with founder Mariuccia Mandelli. The label's name is a reference to a female vanity in Plato's dialogue. Mandelli's designs quickly gained a loyal clientele with her intarsia knitwear, pleated raincoats, and architectural designs that referenced landmark buildings like the Chrysler and the Guggenheim.
