Description
Charles L. Courtry (French, 1846-1897) after Constant Troyon (French, 1810-1865). Etching on laid paper after a 1860 Troyon painting titled "Oxen Ploughing" depicting ca farmer and a team of oxen, 1883. Signed in plate by Courtry along the lower right. With an "MA" watermark. The Troyon painting is in the collection of Clark Art Institute. The print is from Albert Wolff "Cent Chefs-d'Oeuvre: The Choice of French Private Galleries." Paris: Georges Petit and Ludovic Bashet, 1883. Distributed by Knoedler & Co., New York.

Condition
The sheet is lightly toned and there is a light undulation to the sheet. There are minute losses and rips along the lower edge. There is a small tear along the upper left edge. Pencil numbered 50 along the upper right.
