Group of 5 Civil War & Black History Illustrations. From Books, Magazines. Under Magnifying glass show no signs of dotting showing age and authenticity. Item 1: (translated) American War. Marooned Negroes going to the Federal Camp. Shows an Open Wagon full of inhabitants being pulled by 2 horses and a cow. 1 man is leading, 1 man is riding a horse, 1 has his clothes in a cloth over his shoulder, and one is wearing a hat and coat in the background. Item 2: A series of 3 drawings showing the southern slaves leaving their homes, traveling through the marshes, arriving at fort Monroe (Hampton, VA). Signed G. Dore in bottom Left, Item 3: Circa 1863 Contrabands Coming into Camp in Consequence of the Proclemation. Drawn by Mr A.R. Ward. Shows a group of African American travelers gathered along a river in and around a conastoga wagon. Item 4: AMERICA'S WAR.-Fugitive slaves going to the fortification work carried out at Port-Royal.
