Helen Frank (1991-1978) American, Etching on Paper. Titled, bottom middle ?Box of Candy?. Numbered, bottom left ?12?. Features an open box of chocolates, the piece plays mostly with shadow and light with different shades of brown. However, there are a few spots of color, namely the cherry cordial chocolate piece which has been bitten into and rests next to the box as the sweet red syrup flows out onto the table. Artist signed, bottom right - stamped as well. Overall SIze: 16 1/2 x 19 1/2 in. Sight SIze: 11 x 14 in. #4802 Born in Berkeley, CA on March 13, 1911. After graduating from the CCAC in 1931, Frank lived in San Francisco while on the Federal Art Project. She moved back and forth from the West and East coast as she continued her art studies and career. Franks?s work is in the collections of the Library Of Congress, New York Public Library, New-York Historical Society, Museum of Modern Art, Victoria and Albert Museum, New Jersey State Museum, Newark Public Library, American Museum of Immigration, UNICEF, Lafayette College, New Jersey Center for Visual Arts, Saks Fifth Avenue and New York Life Insurance Company, New York Mets, Drumthwacket and Habitat for Humanity.
