In their catalog, Straus had an option to order an "extra heavy" blank on certain pieces - this bowl in their Majestic design is one of those massive, heavy pieces with this distinction. In fact, of the 3 in this auction, it's the thickest of them all - the blank is an inch thick and weighs 16.5 pounds! Read that again, 16.5lbs - 3 more than the next heaviest on the same blank. The Electra pattern really shines on this massive piece.

Condition

This bowl has two chips around the edge that are and two small flakes on the underside shown in the photos. Measures 11 1/2" wide, 5" tall, and 16.5 pounds!
