Dated 1747
Of typical convex circular form with four loops through which would have been threaded a carrying strap, painted primarily in shades of iron red, ochre and blue, one side with a courting couple seated before open draperies surmounted by the date 1747 and the name AVGVSTAIN LAFOI, the other with a vignette of ferns
Height 7 ¼ in. (18 cm), width 6 ¼ in. (15.8 cm)
Another of similar form, painted with Saint Edmund and dated 1745, was formerly in the collection of Charles Damiron.
