Description
Mark Twain signed one page letter dated July 10, 1871. Boldly signed and penned letter, in purple ink, during the Boston Lyceum bureau season of 1871. His speech title was "Reminiscences of Some Uncommon Place, Characters I Have Chanced to Meet," asking if the title was too long. The letter shows Twain was worried it was but could not find other words to better it. With a well struck receiving stamp from the Boston Lyceum Bureau, dated July 15,1871. Signed as ?Mark.?
Condition
This letter has been folded to file, has bold penmanship and signature and has a paper mounting tab on the verso. There is a small punch hole repair in the bottom of the Lyceum hand stamp being not overly distracting and with filing notes h. 7.25 w. 4.375"
