Item Details
Description
Southeast Asia, Thailand, Sawankhalok culture, ca. 15th century CE. A charming pottery vessel in the form of a turtle, boasting a lustrous glaze of light blue and deep green. The adorable critter balances on his flat stomach, which serves as the vessel's base, as he extends his 4 rounded limbs outwards and raises his petite head, displaying large eyes, delineated nostrils, and a down-turned mouth. An annular rim presents at the top of his convex shell, while intricately decorated abstract designs adorn his body. Size: 4.625" L x 3.875" W x 2.125" H (11.7 cm x 9.8 cm x 5.4 cm)
