The column with scrolling oak leaf decoration surmounted by a Gothic-arched hexagonal colonnade with saints and angels, the neck engraved Sebastian and Pierre Erard's Patent No. 6502 18. Great Marlborough Street. LONDON,

Sold to Heinrich Schuëcker, Boston, 1st Harpist of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, on September 21, 1888.

Notes:
From a distinguished American family of musicians of Austrian descent, Heinrich Schuëcker was born in Vienna in 1867. He studied under Antonia Zamara of the Vienna Conservatory from 1878 to 1884. Schuëcker moved to Boston in 1885 and became the 1st harpist of the Boston Symphony Ochestra, a position he held until his death in 1913. He also taught harp at the New England Conservatory, Boston. His older brother, Edmund (1860-1911), also a harpist and composer of harp music, played with the Chicago and Pittsburgh Symphony Ochestras and the Philadephia Orchestra.
Condition
